Adult Basic Literacy
Our Adult Basic Literacy Program is made for adults who want to improve their reading and writing skills. We work one-on-one with these students using the Laubach Way to Reading currciulum, a phonics based approach developed by ProLiteracy that goes up to a sixth grade reading level, and the Challenger curriculum, also created by ProLiteracy, which focuses on reading comprehension and building vocabulary. The Challenger curriculum goes through the eighth grade.
Students enter this program from all stages of literacy, and with a variety of goals. Our students know that literacy is the first step to reaching their goals.
Students who wish to continue classes after they have completed the Adult Basic Literacy Program move on to our Pre-GED Program.
